Club] will mark the campaign by illuminating the [insert building/landmark name] in orange
and organizing a public awareness walk in [city].”)
As Inner Wheel celebrates over a century of friendship, service, and international
understanding, its members renew their shared commitment to create safer and fairer
communities for women and girls everywhere.
“Violence against women and girls is not only a violation of
human rights—it is an affront to humanity itself. Inner
Wheel members around the world are stepping up to lead by

The Orange the World campaign is the name of the 16 Days of Activism against
Gender-Based Violence, a global initiative by UN Women, calling for prevention,
awareness, and accountability. Inner Wheel clubs will take part by:
Organizing global awareness walk/run
Organizing educational and community events;
Lighting public spaces and buildings in orange;
Sharing advocacy messages through social media.
Through unity of purpose and strength of service, Inner Wheel members aim to amplify
a single, powerful message: No woman or girl should live in fear.
In the Orange the World campaign, the color orange symbolizes a brighter, more
hopeful future free from violence against women and girls. Together, UN Women, Inner
Wheel and other organisations call upon individuals, institutions, and communities
across the world to take a stand because ending violence begins with awareness, and
awareness begins with us.
