Who we are
Who we are
The Inner Wheel Resource Centre for EVAWG (End Violence Against Women and Girls) Initiatives are aimed at empowering members to raise awareness, foster education, and take decisive action to eliminate violence against women and girls worldwide.
Our global journey started in May 2024 at the 19th International Inner Wheel Convention in Manchester. International President Trish Douglas invited Anita Meerdink, the then National Representative of the Netherlands, to address delegates from around the globe. This address served as a powerful clarion call to action.
Shortly after, a dedicated international team of volunteer Inner Wheel members was formed under Anita’s coordination. On November 25, 2024, in alignment with the UN Women’s Orange the World 16-day campaign, the UNiTE Team launched its first global initiative. By providing daily promotional posters, videos, messages, and templates, the team enabled members worldwide to amplify the message across their social media networks.
Following the overwhelming success of the inaugural campaign, the team expanded its horizons to include a global awareness run/walk alongside extensive online promotions during the 2025 Orange the World initiative.
As a service organisation, Inner Wheel members are motivated to organise service projects in their local communities throughout the year.
The 2026 campaign will build on this momentum by focusing on four strategic areas:
Inclusion of Men and Boys: Engaging male allies in the conversation and solution.
Reaching Beyond Inner Wheel: Extending our advocacy out into wider global communities.
Education on Respectful Relationships: Fostering long-term cultural change through awareness.
Collaboration: Partnering with like-minded organisations to maximize our impact.
As a centralised resource hub, we equip Inner Wheel members with the essential tools needed to run successful local and international campaigns:
Campaign Website: A comprehensive repository for all relevant campaign information, downloads, and materials.
Official Communications: A dedicated email channel for submitting regional news, project announcements, queries, and requests.
Community WhatsApp Group: An exclusive, members-only platform for rapid discussions, updates, and peer support.
Social Media Hubs (Facebook & YouTube): Dynamic platforms used to spotlight the incredible work of our members, share major campaign announcements, and distribute multimedia resources.
Our operations are driven by a specialized 11-member team comprised of a central coordinator and skilled volunteers. The team handles everything from website management, graphic design, social media moderation, and video editing to Zoom hosting and event compering.
Key Responsibilities of the Team Include:
Reporting directly to International Inner Wheel regarding all strategic plans and operations.
Liaising with United Nations officers for guidance on Orange the World initiatives.
Curating and creating year-round educational content, promotional materials, and campaign assets.
Organising and executing global Inner Wheel webinars to connect and educate our network.
